Beginners Guide

Hello and welcome to the beginner's guide.

Hopefully this is enough to get you started into this game. Also, by talking to other Perfect World Legacy players (both in game and in the forums) you can pick up a lot of knowledge, and you always seem to get a lot of help if you ask for it, so don't be afraid to ask.

The main purpose for this guide is to help new players looking to take the path of quest and levelling.  I decided to try and help out some new players! If you have any suggestions or problems, post it here and/or send me a PM, as I'll be more likely to see it.

Leveling

If you are a beginner this information may be useful, as silly as it may be. To the more advanced players, this will be a waste of time to read.

To level fast and successfully you must know the basics. First: what weapons your class uses, what attributes will be needed, and what armor is to be worn for your class. Elf Priest, Magicians, Werefox, Sorcerer and Wraith Angel mainly use the Intelligent attribute. Werebeast, Warrior and Swordseido mainly use Strength. Rogue and Elf Archer mainly use Agility. Second: In order to kill the Christmas Snowman you must know that this mobs is a Five Element Immune. You are only allow to hit them using melee attacks or damage. Some players uses AOE melee damage in order to gain more exp in just 1 hit. Advantage to all melee type class, but unfair to magic class. Sigh... Im a magic class here. Magic class can use Peach Wooden Sword in hitting one by one the snowman. Just keep hitting the snowman until you reach level 90+. (Thanks to GM you have a complete set +10 items in your inventory, you will be motivated to reach 90 faster.)

Magic users require magical weapons. If you use any other weapon you will be unable to use your skills. Sorcerer and Rogue have their own weapon category which they have to use to utilize their skills. Werebeast (Tanks) and Warrior and Swordseido (Blades ) may use any weapon except Shadow Clan (Sorcerer and Rogue) weapons. Magical weapons are useless to Tanks and Blades for the Magical stat will be too low to use anyhow. Elf Archers must use ranged weapons such as Bows to be successful.

From my experience, Elf Priest  are the most complex class I've seen yet. You must choose your skills wisely (skills are taught by your class skillmaster). Most players go to Thousand Streams to talk to their class skillmaster and get the skills. (Note: Elf Priest Master is not around in Thousand Streams, so better go to other places or  specifically drop by at City of Plumes.

The Grinder's Guide... Grinding to Legacy

So do you need EXP, SPIRIT POINTS without doing your quest, or just a little something to give you some level up? This Grinder's Guide for Grinding is sure to assist you. (Or at least I hope it does!)

Grinding and You

So what is "Grinding?"

By definition: Grinding {grīn'dĭng} (noun): A long period of time where a player will kill monsters (mobs) for a certain item, such as EXP, Spirit, or Materials. Grinding is also another method of leveling up when, at a certain point, a player has run out of quests and has yet to level for some reason. In Perfect World Legacy doing some quest is not necessary to reach level 120. (X5 or more EXP boost)

SO WHY GRIND AT ALL?

Grinding is a simple (although very long and often very boring) process which includes staying in a specific area and killing monsters. It can help you to level, as well as get you used to fighting NPC monsters and learning how to use the skills your character has in their skills list. Depending on which areas you explore, you can find yourself with an inventory filled with expensive items which you can sell either in catshops, or in NPC (non-player characters, like the Blacksmith or Tailor) areas. If you choose a tailor path, you will find that you will have to grind often (unless you magically obtain heaps of money through another process and buy it from another player) to obtain the items you will need to make even low level items.

The Guide to Grind

This guide is here for a level-specific way to get you to your goal!

BUT REMEMBER THESE LITTLE TIPS:

ALWAYS COME PREPARED: Vital Hierogram and Spirit Hierogram, are always needed. You can't mediate your way through the game guys.

BEWARE OF AGGRO: Aggro (or making monsters angry at you so then they attack,) is dangerous, and sometimes fatal! Be careful at where you aim your attacks, or where you position your character. Even in low level mobs, some monsters just don't play nice, and decide to attack you just for the fun of it. You may be able to handle it...but then again, if you're fighting a high level monster, and a low level suddenly pops out and attacks.....you could be in some serious trouble!

BE PARANOID OF PLAYERS: This only applies to you if you're level thirty (30) or higher. PvPing occurs most often when people are out grinding, and they think people are just going to be nice to them and let them run around stealing mobs. Think again! Not everybody is that nice. Keep yourself aware, and you might just be able to get away from some close calls!

MULTI-TASK: If you have a quest, and there happen to be some other mobs that give away EXP or Spirit Points around there, don't be stingy! Beating up other types of monsters won't count away from your quest (2nd or 3rd fairy quest), in fact it might just help move that pretty purple bar faster!

Zen Party and you

So what is "Zen?"

By definition: Zen party {party grīn'dĭng}: Perfect World Eclipse term which mean a long period of time where a party of player will kill many monsters (mobs) for a certain time, this is the best method of leveling up here at PW Legacy.

Grinding Guide

Level 1- 90

First off, welcome to Perfect World Legacy! Good to have you with us.

As you know, there are now four (5) starting cities, and four (5) newbie areas normally:

FOR THE HUMANS: Inn of the Eagle and Etherblade

FOR THE BEASTKIND: The Northern Pass and City of the Lost

FOR THE WINGED ELVES: Battlemark Village and City of the Plume

FOR THE SHADOW: Dragonfang Village and City of Raging Tides

FOR THE AERIAN: Spire of Awakening and Tellus City

These five areas are not your beginning area. The beginning area of Perfect World Legacy will be in City of the Lost. All player at level 1 will pop up here and see many Christmas Snowman around. It's actually a good idea to see these area full of xmas spirit mobs, until you reach double digits. (Being 90.)

No matter what, even if you're an eager and I know you are... stay where you first spawn, and start grinding. Get used to the battle system using melee attack. Stay near your beginning areas. I suggest smacking around snowman until you're at LEAST level 80, maybe even 90 if you feel like it. This makes leveling easier and fun.

In addition to killing snowman, you should remember to use melee type skills or weapon in order to kill them and dissolve them like a bubble.

Level 90 - 120

Congratulations, you just made it over the first hump. Now that you're level 90, make sure you open up your inventory and use all the gifts that GM crafted for you. This will allow you to have a powerful weapon and armor for your class during this time. Make sure you spend the right stat point in your character info, or you will miss out to wear all the stuffs.

THIS IS THE POINT IN TIME WHERE YOU REALLY HAVE TO KNOW WHAT STATS YOUR CLASS USES!

It's really important that you know which stats your class uses. If you're a tank class, and you think you're going to use a lot of magic...I hate to tell you this, you're wrong. It's a good idea to get BALANCE! Check your class on the main page of the Wiki and make sure you're not screwing up! Those stat points are going to either make you or break you if you are not cautious. But no worries, you can buy reset stone at fortune sack if your not cautiously with your stat points.

This is the part where you have to prepare yourself for facing other players in the world of PvP to come. A large majority of players are not going to take pity on you, so start getting ready to face them.

You should have learned at all the skills during this time for humps of your journey. If so, you can begin to explore areas and form a party for grinding or zen party.

PLACES TO GRIND:

Note that these areas are available to all races once they hit around level 90.

There are 3 places i know where you can have party zen in the PW Legacy map. You can kill Shattered Ice Ant

(Lvl 96) here:

            - The Silver Pool

            - Angler's Village

            - Village of Shattered Ice

You can also grind inside Nightscream Island (Dreamweaver Port) by killing Pirate Assassin and Pirate Thuggisher which drop rare items like Life Hierogram, Dragon Orb etc.

If you have already your first fairy you can try and grind inside the Heaven and Hell dome.

At this point, you're facing a lot of tough patience in leveling. Most of the players will be in a hurry to level up. But sorry you need to deal many hours grinding or making zen party in order to reach your goal and be strong. You need time and big efforts to advance your level and don't forget the word "PATIENCE". Perfect World Legacy can make you addict but don't forget to give importance to your health and study.

Most of your grinds will be in this general area. LOVE YOUR GRINDING PARTNERS: THEY ARE YOUR BEST FRIENDS. Why?

Because they can help you give most of EXP and Spirit points to your character, unless your PC can take three to four clients at a time.

Its more fun in PW Legacy because of the skill of the new race Swrodseido: " Ultimate Sword". It is actually best for grinding and  Zen party killing mobs while Elf Priest use Extremity Recovery Array to aid them healing and reducing incoming damage. While other player works as the lurer of the mobs, they gather all the mobs together in the spot of the swordseido to kill them easier but quantity wiser.

Enjoy, have fun, form your party zen and grind everywhere! Reach your goal and be Strong!
